Kendall Eugene Whaler was born on January 1, 1974 in Tahlequah, OK and passed away on January 1, 2021 in Watts, OK and is under the care of Reed-Culver Funeral Home.

Floyd “Wayne” Sissom was born on December 13th, 1959 in Hominy, OK the son of Walter Sissom and Priscilla (Price) Sissom-Blair. He grew up with three brothers and one sister, Billy, Bobby, Michael and Anita. He attended school and then decided on a career as a Welder in the construction industry. He loved his work and was very good at what he did daily. He met and married his best friend and closest companion, Victoria Carey. Together they raised a family of three sons and four daughters, Brandon, Ricky, Gary, Shonna, Rebecca, Makayla, and Savanna. He was a devoted son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. When he wasn’t working, he was coaching his kids in sports, and he was proud of all their accomplishments. Time away from work was spent in the great outdoors, somewhere on the river, doing a little fishing and camping under the stars. When the weather wasn’t so good, he liked to curl up in his favorite chair and watch westerns. Wayne could be found keeping his kids in line with the occasional “look” and hanging out with his favorite grandchildren, they made him smile. He liked people but there was nothing better than the view from his own front yard, with a cigarette in his hand and a cup of coffee to start the day. Wayne was a Christian by faith, and for all he had planned to do, was called home from his many labors on December 26th, 2020, at his home in Hulbert, OK. He was 61 years old, and leaves a vacant chair that no one can ever fill.

Wayne has gone home to join his mother, Priscilla Price Sissom-Blair, his step-dad, Allen Blair, mother-in-law, Louise Carey and his nephew, Adam Sissom.

Those left to carry on Wayne’s memory include his wife, Victoria of the home in Hulbert, and his children, Brandon Sissom and wife Kari of Cleveland, OK, Ricky Carey and wife Katy of Hulbert, OK, Gary Sissom and fiancé Sam of Tahlequah, OK, Shonna Walters and fiancé Jessica of Ponca City, Rebecca Willis and and husband Tyler of Hulbert, OK, Makayla Hughes and husband Chris of Hulbert, OK, and Savanna Sissom of Hulbert, OK. He leaves his brothers and sister, Billy Sissom and wife Sharon, Bobby Sissom and wife Rebecka, and Michael Sissom, all of Hulbert and Anita Blatchford and husband Eugene of Wagoner, OK. He lives on in his grandchildren, Kendra Sissom, Kloe Sissom, Christopher Willis, Jonathan Walters, Brooklyn Carey, Randy Willis, Brayden Carey, Carter Hughes, Braxton Carey, Baker Carey, Madalynn Willis, Annalynn Hughes, Angel Arnold and Clayton Arnold, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.

Funeral services for Floyd" Wayne" Sissom, lovingly called Wayne by his family and friends, will be conducted on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Reed-Culver Chapel with Reverend Jack Carey and Reverend Gary Carey officiating. His family will have a visitation for Wayne on Monday, January 4th, 2021 beginning at 1:00 Pm until 6:00 Pm at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at New Hope Cemetery in Hulbert, OK. Pallbearers for Wayne will be Thomas Blatchford, Tony Chester, Nathan Chester, Bill Chester, Rick Sims, and Steven Ballou. His honorary pallbearers include Brandon Sissom, Ricky Carey, Gary Sissom, Tyler Willis, and Chris Hughes.

Verda Lee Riley (Newton) left this world to join her heavenly father on December 29, 2020 at the age of 96, in her home in Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. 
Verda was born on February 16, 1924 in Waukomis, Oklahoma to Virginia and Winnie Newton. 
After graduating high school in Enid, Oklahoma, Verda attended secretarial school in Enid, until she was hired to work for Tinker Air Force Base. She eventually transferred to the FAA in Oklahoma City, where she audited pilot medical records until she retired. Verda, better known to most as “Granny”, was a hard working woman who was up for most anything on the farm including riding horses, milking cows, and gardening. She also loved to bake bread and cookies, canned lots of vegetables and fruit and made her own butter and cheese for years. She was skilled at sewing, crocheting, and quilting. Many of her family and friends have quilts with “Made especially for you by Verda Lee Riley” tags. Granny had the gift of hospitality and was always entertaining friends, neighbors, and her family. She loved the Lord with her whole heart and wanted to make sure everyone had the opportunity to get to know Him, so they could also be saved. She was an active member of her church and taught Sunday School for many years. 
She was preceded in death by daughter, Janice Sue Rush and husband “Bud” Alexander Riley. 
She is survived and will be lovingly remembered by sons, James (Denna) Evans of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Scotty Evans of Fort Gibson, Oklahoma. Granddaughters, Kimberly (James) Caskey, Deborah Wood, Brenda (Erick) Wheeler, and Jenny (Dave) Turner; great grandchildren Julie Smith, Chris (Kara) Caskey, Lacey Caskey, Hollie Caskey, Brooke (Jacob) Hernandez, Deidre (Nick) Conwell, Chris (Brittney) Sherman, Kayla Wood, Chase Thrush, Hailey Thrush, Kenzie Thrush, Isaiah and Jordan Turner; great great grandchildren, Asthon Conwell, Rhett Smith, Matthew Caskey, Aaron Askey, and Kai Caskey. 
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 4, 2021 from 9:00 am to 8:00 pm at Green Country Funeral Home at 203 Ron Rice Avenue, Tahlequah, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 10:00 am at Blackgum Baptist Church at 450122 OK-100 Vian, Oklahoma. 
Graveside services will be at Mustang Cemetery in Mustang, Oklahoma.

Stephen Gregory Tiner, AKA “Poppy” passed away on December 29, 2020. He was born on November 14, 1952 to Madeline Marie Hall and Thurl Floyd Timer. 

Steve married Bonnie Light and together raised three beautiful children. Steve spent twenty years as an officer in the United States Air Force. He re-tired in 1996 as a Major, and settled in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. 

Steve loved fishing, hunting, cooking, and going to Disney World with all his kids, grandkids, and wife Bonnie. Steve was always positive and ambitious. He didn’t let anything get in his way on things he had his heart set on. 

Steve was preceded in death by his mother Marie and father Thurl Tiner. 
He is survived by his wife Bonnie; daughter, Stephanie; son Matthew, daughter Jill; their spouses, eight grandkids, two brothers, one sister and many other family and friends. 

Steve was very proud of his Family and Country. Words cannot describe what an impact this wonderful man had on people. He will be missed, loved and always in our hearts.

Denese Marie Brewer, beloved wife, mom, and nana departed this life at 8:17 pm Sunday, December 27th at Mercy Hospital in Fort Smith, Arkansas. 
Dense was born on November 16th 1958 in Branson, Missouri to Lloyd Lee Sission and Beatrice Marie Sission. 
Denese, along with her brother and sister was raised and schooled in Depew Oklahoma. In 1975 she had one child, Jeanette Beatrice Miller. In the summer of 1988, while spending time on the Illinois river with her family she met Luckie Brewer. Denese, Luckie and Jeanette resided in Peggs, Oklahoma. In 1993 Denese graduated from Bacone College with a degree in Nursing. 
In 1994 Denese and Luckie bought their dream home on Lake Tenkiller. Denese was a gifted nurse and had a passion for taking care of the elderly, she was respected by her colleagues and loved by her patients. In her spare time, you could often find Denese with her sister Deborah at a craft show or flea market. If not there she was with her grandchildren, one of the greatest joys of her life. 
Denese is survived by her husband Luckie Brewer. Her daughter Jeanette Rushing and her husband Johnny. Denese had two grandchildren, Elaine Denese Miller. 23 and Kelsey Leen Miller, 18. She has two siblings. David Sission and his wife Carlena and their three girls Dava, Bridgette and DIana. Her Sister Deborah Ann Parish and her husband Mike Parish and their 5 children, Stephanie, Vanessa, Christopher Samantha and Pete.
