Robert “Sonny” Mouse Jr. was born on Wednesday, June 2nd, 1954 in Tahlequah, OK, the son of Robert Lee And Nancy (Walker) Mouse Sr. He was a member of eleven of the Mouse children, David, Jackie, Michael, Jody, Marvin, Clifford, Cora, Dora, Lucy, and Nora. He attended school and graduated. He began his career with Cherokee Nation, and would later become a Water and Sanitation Supervisor, retiring after 40 plus years at Cherokee Nation. He loved people and always had a big smile on his face. He was everyones friend and often went the extra mile just to help anyone that asked. He loved any chance to be outdoors, from mowing his lawn to a day spent fishing. Sonny was always ready to go find a bargain at the flea market or perhaps meet up with friends at the casino for a little relaxation. He was a Sooners fan and enjoyed watching OU Football. The sweetest place on earth was on his own front porch watching the sun come up or going down, kicking back to good western on TV or listening to music. He was a proud father and grandfather, he adored his family. He was so very proud of grandchildren and all their accomplishments. He enjoyed quiet time spent with his wife, Gladys, relaxing with family and friends, playing a little horseshoes. He loved life and was happy just to start a new day. A Christian by faith, Sonny was a Baptist. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from his labors on January 11th, 2019 in Tulsa with his family by his side. He was 64 years old and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his mother and father, and by three brothers, David, Jody and Clifford.
His memory is cherished by his family, wife Gladys of Tahlequah, and five children, Rachel Ummerteskee and husband Paul of Park Hill, OK, Robbi Sweeney and husband Bobby of Catoosa, Brandon Fields and wife Amanda of Tahlequah, OK, Sunny Mouse of Park Hill, OK and Ryan Mouse of Moodys, OK. He also leaves his three brothers, Jackie Mouse of Tahlequah and Michael Mouse of Briggs, and Marvin Mouse of Tahlequah, and four sisters, Cora Vann of Tahlequah, Dora Vance and husband Ernest of Tahlequah, Lucy Overacker and husband Greg of Tahlequah and Nora Weaver and David also of Tahlequah. He lives on in his 14 grandchildren, four great grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
