A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted
for Gerald Allen on Thursday, November 14th, 2019 at 11:00 AM at St.
Brigid Catholic Church with Father Stuart Crevcour officiating. His
family will receive visitors on Wednesday beginning at noon until 6:00
PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at Tahlequah
City Cemetery. Online condolences for his family may be left at

On the early morning of Sunday, November 10th, 2019 Gerald Allen passed away peacefully in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Gerald Allen was born on Friday, July 8, 1955 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma. He was the fifth son of eight boys to Woodrow and Lula Mae (Manus) Allen Sr. Gerald attended Briggs Elementary School, Tahlequah Jr. and Sr. High School where he graduated in 1973. He attended Northeastern State University where he studied Botany Science. He loved plants and flowers. He grew many beautiful flower beds and landscape projects. He was a Master Florist in Tulsa and Tahlequah. Gerald was also the owner of “Skiatook Flowers”. He made thousands of people happy and in awe of his beautiful floral creations. Gerald was an active member of the Tahlequah Humane Society. He rescued several dogs and made sure they were given plenty of love and care. Gerald especially loved his little rat terrier named Zack. A Christian by faith, he was deeply committed member of St. Brigid Catholic Church ,and a member of Juan de Padilla, a region of the Secular Franciscan Order Fraternity. For several years,Gerald decorated the parish with fresh greenery and flowers for special Masses and always Midnight Mass at Christmas and Easter. Gerald loved his faith and his parish family was very special to him. Gerald loved flowers, animals, nature and his Navajo / Cherokee heritage. A very talented artist, he loved painting for friends and family, working in mediums such as acrylic, watercolor, and pencil. He painted for some of his fellow residents at the nursing facility he lived. He was unique, compassionate, loving, kind and generous and sometimes a little mischievous individual. He had a wonderful sense of humor and always had a jovial spirit about him. He will be truly missed by many friends and family.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Richard and Edna Manus, Joseph and Katherine Mary Neskahi, his parents Woodrow and Lula Allen, brothers Jeffrey, Perry and Woodrow Jr. Allen, many aunts and uncles, cousins, friends and significant partners.
Gerald is survived by brothers Marvin Allen of Tahlequah, OK, Curtis Allen of Oklahoma City, OK, Gary and Kay Allen of Tulsa, OK and Richard and Shelly Allen of Tahlequah OK. Nieces, Gena and Perry Orr, Jannie and Nathan Brown, Mindy Allen, Mary M. Allen, Emma L Allen and Elise Allen. Nephews Gabriel Allen, Michael Allen and Joshua Allen , Great nephew Liam Brown, aunt Marie Allen and many cousins , special friends Mark and Janice Keeley, his St. Brigid Parish Family, and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
