Sue Ann Hooper-Pritchett was born Monday, April 21, 1952 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Roy and Nannie (Handle) Hooper. She was part of a large family, having 10 brothers and sisters. At a young age, she attended the Oaks Mission School. During her high school years, she attended and graduated from Tahlequah High School. She then began her nursing career as a CNA while she started her studies at the Cherokee Nation Nursing School, earning her LPN. She worked in the nursing home industry while she attended Bacone pursuing her Registered Nurse degree. She met John Tee Pritchett and married, raising a family of 3 daughters, Diana, Tara and Melanie, and 1 son, Anthony. Sue was a dedicated health provider. She took the time to heal the mind and soul as well as the body. She always had time to share a laugh or give them one of her special smiles. When she was home, the focus was on family. She never missed the chance to watch her kids play sports, and you knew she was there because you could hear her yelling from the sidelines. She loved time spent with family, either enjoying a picnic, family vacations, playing Bingo, meeting friends at the casino or watching her nephew, Jonathan Washington, play ball in the holiday tournament. She was lovable, welcoming and never met a stranger. Her smile was the warmest, her understanding endless and her heart was huge. Her husband passed from this life and she kept up with her family until her health began to fail. Sue passed from this life on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 in Tahlequah, OK. Sue was 67 years old. Sue will be greatly missed by all.
Sue is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and brothers and sisters, Inez Carpenter, Irene Cochran, Rufus Hooper, Bob Hooper, James Hooper, Wanda Campbell, Ida Vann, and Louise Hooper, and two great-granddaughters, Thalia and Everly Landaverde Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Diana Aguilar and husband Pancho, Anthony Pritchett and wife Sandy, Tara Landaverde and husband Felipe and Melanie Pritchett. She leaves behind one sister, Nina Washington and husband Johnny, and one brother, Calvin Hooper. Sue lives on in her six grandchildren, Joseph Pritchett, Alex Aguilar, Slynda Landaverde, Juan Aguilar, Leonardo Landaverde and Dayson Pritchett, as well as three great-grandchildren Alayna Brown, Ariella Brown and Isaac Aguilar. Sue also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
