Ricky Dean Vaughan Sr. was born on Thursday, March 10th, 1955, in Tulsa, OK, the son of Earl and Barbara (Cole) Vaughan. He was raised with two brothers, Cecil and Wesley. Ricky served his country in the United States Marine corps, and after his honorable discharge, obtained his degree from Northeastern State University. He met and married Peggy Sue Jones and together they raised a family until the marriage dissolved. Ricky drove truck delivering for Tyson for 25 years, and has traveled almost the entire United States, often running trucking routes 30 days at a time. When he returned, there was nothing better than a home cooked meal and a rest in his favorite recliner. He was the proud father of two sons and one daughter, Jason, Ricky Jr, and Athena. He liked spending the day in pursuit of the whitetail deer or fishing at his favorite spot. He was always willing to buy a lottery ticket just in case he got lucky, and was determined and unstoppable once his mind was made up. He was blessed with a great sense of humor and loved people just the way he found them, at face value. He received many accolades for his work in safety on the job force. He was a firm supporter of the NRA. He was very proud of his seven grandchildren, and was proud of everything they did. His family brought him a great deal of happiness. He passed from this life on Saturday, August 1st, 2020 in Grove, OK. Ricky was 65 years old. He will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his Mother, Father, ex-wife, Peggy Sue Vaughan, his son, Ricky Vaughan Jr., and his brother Cecil.
Those left to cherish his memory include children, Jason Jones and wife Dawn of Oklahoma City, OK, and his daughter, Athena Bailey and husband Heath of Hulbert, OK. He leaves one brother, Wesley Vaughan of Tahlequah, OK, and lives on in his seven grandchildren, Bailey Dawn Studie, Ricky Dale Studie and Saiane May Studie all of Briggs, OK, Lillie Anne Bailey, Alona Adriana Bailey, Alyssa Beth Bailey, and Lindsey Brooke Bailey all of Hulbert, as well as his Tyson co-workers, many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
