Tim was born on November 6, 1950 in Jamestown, NY to his parents the late Elmer and Beverly Town. He moved to Kennedy, NY as a child and grew up on the family farm with his parents and siblings. He was a devout Christian and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior at a young age.
In 1967 he met the love of his life Brenda Marie Muscarella in Jamestown, NY. He joined the Navy in May of 1969, married Brenda on February 7, 1970 while he was home on leave. In 1987 Tim was deployed to the Philippines on the USNS Mercy for a humanitarian mission.
He retired from the Navy in 1992 as a Chief Biomedical Photographer after 22 years of decorated service.
Tim’s favorite pastime was boating, and he especially loved racing sail boats. He was always at home on the water whether fishing or just cruising along. Tim and Brenda frequently played cards with family and friends and often times he won. His favorite card game was Hand and Foot, which he taught all of his Grandchildren to play. He loved spending time with his family outside by a fire or camping. Tim was also passionate about restoring classic cars with his friends. He and Brenda were members of the Cherokee Cruisin’ Classic Car Club in Tahlequah, OK where they have lived for the last 18 years.
Tim is survived by his wife of 50 years, Brenda Town, two sons Timothy James Town and wife Tiffany and Todd Michael Town and wife Roseann, his Grandchildren Timothy (T.J.) Town, Jared Town, Sha’lynn Town, Alaina Melton, Hailey McClendon, Lauran McClendon, Michael McClendon, Aiden Town and Great Grandchildren, A’nnaleigh Welzyn, Brantley Melton and Bennett Melton. His brother George Town, sister Brenda Town Mathis and brother Daniel Town. And numerous nieces and nephews.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents Elmer Town and Beverly Bucklaew Town.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wreaths Across America or St Judes Hospital
