Elvis Lee Dry was born on Monday October 7th, 1957 in Leach, OK, the son of Clarence and Naomi Jean (Wickliffe) Dry. He attended Kansas High School where he was noted for being a barefoot kicker on his football team and continued his love of sports all of his lifetime. He would later become an Over-The-Road truck driver and later was a bus driver for Sequoyah High School. He greatly enjoyed traveling all over the countryside.
In October of 1988, he married Susan McBride and together they raised a son, Christopher Dry. Elvis had the kind of personality that made him easy to like and be around. He was kind and generous to a fault but had the best sense of humor and could fire off comebacks with the best of them. He was the Sequoyah Indians biggest fan, and he never missed a chance to cheer them on. OU football and the OKC Thunder would come next in line for pastimes.
He later married his best friend, Wynona Impson and together they enjoyed many years together until her passing in October 2008. Elvis continued time spent with family and friends. He was a UKB Elder and very proud of his Native American Heritage and all that his people had accomplished. A Christian by faith, Elvis never met a stranger; all people were brothers and sisters to Elvis. The Lord called this wonderful man home to rest on Sunday, January 20th, 2019 in Tahlequah, OK. He was only 61 years old, but lived his life to the fullest. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. Elvis is preceded in death by his mother, father, wife, brother Sonny Dry, and three sisters, Anna Mae Bruce, Alene Blackfox, and Anita Dry.
His memory will be cherished by his son, Chris Dry and wife Kenna of Claremore, OK, two brothers, Robert Dry of Tahlequah, OK, and Dale Dry of Stilwell, OK, one sister, Dana Roof of Joplin, MO, and lives on in his grandson, Christian Jordan Dry, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
