Obituary for Kenneth Leroy Koehn
Kenneth
Leroy Koehn was born on May 9, 1932, in Halstead, Kansas to Martin
Henry and Elsie (Jantzen) Koehn. He was called home on January 15, 2018,
at the age of 86 years 8 months and 6 days.
Kenneth grew up in the Fairview, Oklahoma area where attended school. His high school years were spent at Oklahoma Bible Academy. Kenneth later attended Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, Nebraska. He would earn his Undergraduate Degree at Phillips University in Enid, Oklahoma, and in 1961 he received his MD doctorate from the University of Oklahoma.
During that time at OU he met Laura Barnard and they married in 1957.
Following his internship Kenneth joined the US Public Health Service, and a family medicine residency in Galveston, Texas. From 1967 to 1974 he practiced medicine in Westville, Oklahoma. He would eventually retire from medicine after practicing several years at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
Kenneth always enjoyed staying active in the church wherever home was at the time. He got much enjoyment out of teaching Sunday School classes. He was involved in the church building projects, and was an active member of the Gideons.
For relaxation Kenneth enjoyed cattle farming, going on fishing trips some even taking him as far as Canada.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Elsie; and a grandson, Damon Tyler Koehn.
His four loves of his life were Faith, Family, Farm and Fishing.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Laura, of the home; five children, Anita Crosby and husband Albert of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Dwight Koehn and wife Lily of Albuquerque, New Mexico, James Koehn and fiance, Melissa of Russelville, Arkansas, Lee Koehn of Cincinnati, Arkansas, and Cindy Koehn of Benton Arkansas; four grandchildren; three sisters, Ruby Wantoch, Verla Dick, Judy Rempel; a brother, Martin Koehn; extended family members, Steve and Linda Smith, and their three children, Mike and Angel Wang and their two children, and Dessie Austin; as well as many other friends and loved ones.
