Jewel Elkins-Hilton was born on Wednesday, July 4th, 1934 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Guy William and Bessie Marie (Trammel) Elkins. She grew up with one brother and two sisters, William, JoElla, and Lucille. She left school early and completed her GED. Later in life, she attended college to further her education. She would meet and marry her best friend, Robert Hilton on April 11, 1955 in Tahlequah, OK. Together they would raise three children, Robert Wayne, Ronnie Lynn, and Donna. Jewel worked in the PPG Factory for her daily wages. When she wasn’t there, you could find her at home, being the best daughter, wife mother and grandmother ever. She was a lover of the great outdoors, and any chance to go fishing, or camping was welcomed. The best part of fishing for Jewel was cooking and eating the catch of the day. She always loved time gathered with friends at Senior Citizens sharing a meal and a little fun. She had a welcoming smile and a heart that never met a stranger. She always made you feel welcome. She enjoyed gathering with her family during holiday to make something special and enjoy the day as a family. A Christian by faith, she attended the Assembly Of God Church in Sapulpa. She loved her church family and helped whenever asked. Robert died in 2006 and Jewel stayed close to her family enjoying every moment with her grand and great grandchildren. Her health began to fail her and the Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her labors on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at her home in Tulsa, surrounded by those who knew her best. She was 84 years old. She is preceded in death by her mother, father, brother William Guy Elkins, and two sisters, JoElla Taylor and Lucille Paris, one son, Robert Wayne Hilton, and her grandparents. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving children, Donna Richardson of Tulsa, OK, and Ronnie Lynn Hilton of Ventura, CA. She lives on in her six grandchildren, Amanda Rhodes, David Hilton, Jake Hilton, Nathan Hilton, Stafford Hilton, and Barbara Smythe, and sixteen great grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
