Leona Y. Crittenden was born on Thursday, May 13th, 1943 in Watts, OK, the daughter of John Youngpuppy. She grew up with three brothers and one sister, attended school, and then decided to be a homemaker by profession. She was the proud Mama of four children, Perry, Gary, Eric, and Amy. She loved time spent making a home for her family. She loved being outdoors, be it fishing at her favorite spot or working in her garden, or perhaps working over the many beautiful flowers she raised. She was handy with a needle and loved to quilt and crochet. She had the kind of smile that lit up a room, accompanied by an ornery streak. You could see the happiness in her face every time she was around her grandchildren, they were the seven brightest angels in her garden. She loved gathering with her family to share a meal or to talk the day away. A Christian by faith, she faithfully attended the Long Prairie Baptist Church. She was 76 years old. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother, grandparents, her husband Buster Crittenden, two sons, Gary and Eric Crittenden, and one brother, Littlejohn Youngpuppy.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Perry Crittenden and wife Stephanie of Bullhollow, OK, one daughter, Amy Israel and husband Michael of Rose, OK. She leaves two brothers and one sister, Leo Youngpuppy and wife Darlene of Watts, OK, Chester Crittenden and wife Shirley of Jay, OK, and Joanne Fields of Kansas, OK. She lives on in her seven grandchildren, Mikey, Leon, Joshua, Sierra, Cianna, Tierra, and Shaneka. She also leaves her five great grandchildren, Joshua’s Children: Sierra, Athena, Teagan and Samson, as well as a host of friends and loved ones.
