August 10, 1940  -  September 28, 2018 

 

Norma Lee Smith the daughter of Fate and Phyllis (Edwards) Latta was born August 10, 1940 in Stilwell, Oklahoma and departed this life on September 28, 2018 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 78 years, 1 month and 18 days.

Norma loved her family and enjoyed her role as a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved her grandkids and enjoyed watching them in their different roping events, rodeos, and sports activities. She loved the
Lord and enjoyed going to church. She loved her church family at the Dry Creek General Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, and flower gardening. Norma touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who
knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband Chock Smith.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Donita Spencer and husband Doyal of Tahlequah, Edward Smith of Skelly, Pam Hix and husband Mark of Dry Creek and Ricky Smith of Dry Creek; her brother
Perry Anthony Latta and wife Shirley of Rocky Mountain; her cousin whom she loved like a brother Donald Ray Edwards and wife Millie of Tahlequah; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.

My son was born on July 16, 1959 and went home to heaven on September 20, 2018. He is survived by his children; Eamber Glenn, Amanda Glenn, Phillip Glenn and Andrew Glenn; his father Donald Glenn; and three sisters and a brother.



He was preceded in death by his mother; Ivia Dorseal Glenn who was waiting for him with open arms.



Eddie was a loving son and a caring brother, who was always there to lend a helping hand. He is no longer in pain but, is now learning to fly with his mother.

Enid Janet Dance Waddell the daughter of Clifford Reuben and Janet Isabella (Ritter) Kelsey was born October 11, 1924 in Park Falls, Wisconsin and departed this life on September 21, 2018 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 10 days.

Enid lived a full and prosperous life. She served her country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. She enjoyed many things in life such as shooting pool, watching NCIS, playing the piano, reading and working Suduko and Cryptogram puzzles. She enjoyed traveling and spent a lot of travelling with her family. If you knew Enid you knew her whistle, she would almost always be whistling as she went about her day. Enid touched many lives over the years and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband and father of her children George Dance; her second husband Lt. Col. Edward Waddell; her son Gary George Dance; her daughter Judith Ann Dance; her sister Anna Mae Hulcher; and her brothers Clifford Kelsey and Helmar Kelsey.

She is survived by a loving family which includes her children Karen Janet Troutman and husband John of Lawrence, KS and Jon Kelsey Dance and wife Martha of Tulsa; her sister Gwen Farris of Chicago, IL; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives also survive her.

Obituary for Hattie Lou Farabee

Hattie Lou Farabee, was born January 6, 1934 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Ulmond “Bennie” and Mary (Hullinger) Somner.
Hattie gained her wings September 21, 2017, at home surrounded by her family in Tahlequah, Oklahoma at the age of 83 years 8 months and 15 days.
Hattie began caring for her younger siblings at the age of 8. At the age of 14 she married the love of her life Lester Lee Philpott. They were blessed with two beautiful daughters Linda Sue and Jean Ann. They bought land and built a home for their family, which is still the family home today. Their marriage continued for 25 years until Lester passed. Hattie worked tirelessly to maintain the home they built together from the ground up.
Years later she met and married Norman Jamison, they did lots of gardening and fishing together, along with loving their grandchildren.
Hattie's hobbies throughout her life included gardening, quilt making, fishing, cooking, and canning.
Later in life she married Stan “Red” Farabee and they were married for 24 years. They loved going to garage sales, auctions, and visiting friends often.
Hattie is preceded in death by her parents, Ulmond "Bennie" Somner and Mary Ann (Hullinger) Somner; five siblings, Evelyn Somner, Jackie Somner, Dorothy McKenzie, Samuel "Jiggs" Somner and Shirley Ann Nelson.
She is survived by two loving daughters Linda and husband Bill Dreadfulwater of Tahlequah, and Jean Ann and husband David Smith of Tahlequah; grand children Kalea Dreadfulwater-Vinson, Shelly Dreadfulwater, Stacy and husband Ty Fountain Jr., Nicholas Smith and Fiance' Jamicia Trammel, and Jessica Smith, two great-granddaughters Kassidy Slade and Mia Vinson, and one great-great granddaughter Ryleigh Cole; sisters Eula Anno of Tahlequah, Carmen and husband Don Marple of Tulsa and numerous precious nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family would like to extend special heart felt thanks to our family friend Dr. Donna Schneider, all the folks at at Hospice of the Cherokees for their care and support. Special thanks to niece Patricia Scott for always being a constant helping hand, and loving Hattie.
