Obituary for Mary Roseanna Shamel

Mary Roseanna (Tillison) Shamel was born September 21, 1935 in Tahlequah Oklahoma. She was the daughter of Fred Tillison and Gladys (Reynolds) Tillison. On August 14, 1957 she married Don Shamel and together they had many adventures all over the country as they loved and raised their 7 children. They always came back to the Tahlequah area and eventually settled in the Keys community, bought Big Red Restaurant, then Gateway Grocery. After Don’s passing in 1992, Mary owned and managed Gateway Grocery and later Gateway Manor Mobile home park for many years.
Mary was absolutely devoted to her children and grandchildren. She loved being outside and could grow anything. She loved her flowers, having a garden, watching the birds and anything that got her outside on a beautiful day. As long as she was physically able, she mowed her three acre yard and did all of her own maintenance. Into her 80’s she continued to cook, clean, and be strongly independent, always taking care of and loving her family. Physically and emotionally strong, Mary was known for her quirky sense of humor, her words of wisdom, and her absolute love, support and acceptance. Nonjudgmental, understanding and forgiving, Mary was always there to support those she loved. Her home was always a happy place and there was always room for one more. She made sure every child and grandchild knew that they were her favorite.
Mary is preceded in death by the love of her life, husband Don Shamel, her parents, sisters Virginia Tillison, Mattie Jane Shamel, Hazel Gunderson and Mae Smith and brothers Ralph Tillison, Robert “Son” Carr, and Johnny Tillison.
Those left to cherish her memory include: Son Don Shamel of Park Hill, his children Donna James, Terry Dray and Walter Shamel; daughter Carol Shamel of Tahlequah and her daughter Joanne Patrick; daughter Linda and husband Stanton Walker of Keys and their sons Scotty Walker and Bobby Walker; son Gary Shamel and wife Denita of Locust Grove and their daughters Gina Roach and Mindy Collins; daughter Roseanna Edwards and husband Joel of Park Hill and their children Jodie Edwards, Amanda Timmons, Billie Dawn Edwards, and Erik Edwards; daughter Patty Watts of Keys and her children Rhonda Elkins, Diane Carver and David Watts; daughter Billie and husband Perry Jordan of Keys, and their children Sara Jordan of Park Hill and Nate Jordan of Keys; and her beloved daughter/granddaughter Mary and husband Sambo Elkins and their son Dyllan Lindsey of the home and grandchildren that she raised, Josh Lindsey of the home and granddaughter Alix Corey of Keys. Mary leaves 33 great-grandchildren and 10 great- great- grandchildren that she loved and adored. She is also survived by brothers Mitchell and wife Dolly Tillison of Tahlequah, Freddie Tillison of Missouri, Bobby and wife Shelly Tillison of Tahlequah, Patsy James of Keys and Billie Turner of Keys. She also leaves a host of family and friends who will always remember her for her compassion and willingness to help anyone who needed a helping hand, a fresh start, or just someone to silently listen then assure them that it was all going to be okay.

Obituary - Dionisio Hernandez October 9, 1959 – June 3, 2020

Dionisio Hernandez

October 9, 1959June 3, 2020
 Obituary of Dionisio Hernandez

Obituary of Debra Renee "Debbie" Guess

Her family will receive visitors on Thursday June 4th, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Reed-Culver Funeral Home. Debra will be laid to rest with her family at Cobb Cemetery in Briggs, OK. Online condolences may be left at www.reedculver.com.
Pallbearers for Debra include OJ Rotramel, Montana Capps, Mac Capps, Timmy Neugin, Eric Gunderson, and Hoss Neugin.
Debra Renee “Debbie” Guess was born on Saturday, October 22nd, 1966 in Tahlequah, OK, the daughter of Toy and Betty Lou (Philpott) Rotramel. She was raised with a large family of two brothers and nine sisters, Marcella, Toy Allen, Geneva, Carol, Mary Jane, Susie, Dorothy, Cynthia, Orville, and Maggie. She attended school in Briggs, Braggs, and graduated Tahlequah High School. She then began her college studies at Bacone and graduated from Northeastern State University, where she worked in Admissions all of her working career. She loved helping the incoming students figure out what courses they needed, how they needed to get assistance, and just talking with them in general. She would do whatever was necessary to help those needing her assistance. When she wasn’t working at NSU, you could find her at Calvary Indian Baptist Church in Tahlequah. She worked tirelessly writing letters to the many Missionaries, keeping them encouraged with her prayers and work. The many church members were her second family, she adored them all. Debbie was devoted to her parents, and took care of her mother in her final years, making sure she was loved and cared for. There was nothing she liked better than time spent with her family, she adored them all, and her nieces and nephews were like her own children. There was nothing that pleased her more than watching the sun come up or set in her own backyard, just watching the birds singing and a little quiet time with her thoughts. She was a faithful friend, a devoted daughter, a loving sister, aunt and cousin. For all the plans she had and all she wanted to accomplish, she passed from this life on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 in her home in Tahlequah, OK. She was 53 years, 7 months, and 8 days old. Debbie will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Toy and Betty Lou, paternal grandparents, Watie and Elizabeth (Smart) Rotramel, maternal grandparents, Jim and Leone (English) Philpott, two sisters, Cindy Spradlin and Carol Langley, and one brother, Toy Allen Rotramel.
Those left to cherish her memory include one brother, Orville Rotramel and wife Bonnie of Tahlequah, OK, and six sisters, Marcella Boone and husband Danny of Moreno Valley, CA, Geneva Coulston of Stilwell, OK, Mary Jane Jones of Hulbert, OK, Susie Jesse of Welling, OK, Dorothy Davis and husband Phillip of Nebraska, and Maggie McLemore and Husband Daryl of Tahlequah, OK. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins, her church family at Calvary Indian Baptist Church, as well as a host of friends and loved ones too numerous to mention.
