Shana
Naomi Marie Berry passed away on the 28th of June, 2019 at her home in
Tahlequah, OK at the age of 49 years, five months, and 29 days.
Shana was born in Tahlequah, OK on December 29, 1969 the daughter of Judy and Bill Berry. She grew up in Tahlequah and Pryor, OK. She graduated from Pryor High School and went on to Northeastern State University where she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education and Development.
Shana worked at Cherokee Nation before starting her own business, Sonshine ElderCare. She was a volunteer at Zoe Institute, Help in Crisis, Cherokee County Relay for Life, and Nursery Coordinator at Cornerstone, and 29|Eleven Church.
Her best gifts in life were her three beautiful children, Montana Hefner, Alora Hefner, and Wynter Jackson.
Although she was diagnosed with cancer in 2014, she never accepted this diagnosis as hers. But instead remained the strong and faithful woman she was. Shana always wore a smile and praised the Lord for more time with her beloved family.
Shana was preceded in death by her grandparents Bill and Marie Collier, and Claude and Naomi Berry, as well as sister Jayce Kirk and stepfather Jim Kirk.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday July 2nd at 29|Eleven Church, Tahlequah, OK under the care of Green Country Funeral Home, with Pastors Terry Stone and Aaron Doan Officiating.
Shana is survived by her children, Montana Hefner, Alora Hefner, and Wynter Jackson, her mother Judy Collier Dirk of Tahlequah, her father Bill Berry of Tahlequah, Aunt Biddy “Billy” Collier of Olathe, KS, Aunt Jill Ericksten of Tahlequah, sister Tammy Starkey of Washington, niece Allison Starkey of Tahlequah, and best friend Stephanie Hair of Tahlequah.
Thank you to all who have supported Shana and family, 29|Eleven Church and friends who have brought food and prayers. Carter Home Health and Hospice and Stephanie Hair and Romika Anderson forth equality care of Shana. The family suggests donation in Shana’s memory to be made out to either the following: 29|Eleven Youth Ministries, Cherokee County Relay for Life, Cherokee County Dog and Cat Shelter or a charity of your choice.
