Obituary for Michael King
Michael
M. King, aged 65, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019 at Porta Caeli
House in Tulsa. He was born November 13, 1953 in Topeka, KS to Raymond
and Patricia (McDermott) King.
He graduated from Bishop Kelley High School and Oklahoma State University.
Mike married his high school sweetheart, Aileen McGann on June 1, 1974 in Miami, OK.
During his career he worked for B.F. Goodrich and Kerr McGee but ultimately fulfilled his dream of owning his own business, King’s EZ Stop in Tahlequah.
Mike enjoyed spending time outdoors whether quail hunting, fishing or playing golf. A favorite pastime was rooting for the OSU Cowboys.
After retirement he became a fabulous and creative cook and he and Aileen loved entertaining family and friends with great meals.
But his overriding passion was for his family. His love for Aileen, Steve and Amanda was always apparent and he loved being with them most of all.
Mike was an active member of St. Brigid’s Catholic Church in Tahlequah.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Aileen; son Stephen and his wife Jenni; daughter, Amanda and her husband Clint Summers; granddaughters Olivia, Caitlyn and Isla; siblings Chuck and wife Cathy, Bill and wife Dee, Cecilia and husband Joe, and Tom and wife Maureen; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Family and friends are welcome to celebrate his life at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church for the Rosary on Sunday, August 18 at 7 pm and funeral service on Monday, August 19 at 10 am.
