will be held on Wednesday, September 25th, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Parris
Cemetery in the Gideon Community with Reverend David Wiens officiating. A
visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 24th, 2019 from 12:00 PM

Shirley Ann Talbott Parris began this earthly life on Sunday, August 28, 1938 on a wheat farm five miles south of Enid, OK, the daughter of Iretta Talbott. Shirley and her mother later moved to Tulsa, OK were she attended Central High School. After graduation, she met and married L.S. Parris on Friday, May 8th, 1959 in Tulsa. Together they enjoyed 60 years of memories and love. This union was blessed with two sons, Rick and Mark. Shirley took pride in being a good mother to her boys and was a wonderful wife and companion to L.S. Shirley worked for many years as a Laboratory Technician for a doctor’s office in Tulsa. When she wasn’t working, she loved any opportunity to be outdoors, camping or fishing. Shirley loved animals, especially dogs, and always had one close by, nothing beat cozying up to her canine companion, Boss Man, with a good book. She had a beautiful display of angel figurines she collected. You could always count on Shirley to lighten the room with her jovial and happy go lucky attitude. There wasn’t a person that she met that didn’t become a friend. If you met her once, it was like you had known each other for years. There wasn’t a morning she didn’t stop in for a cup of joe at her favorite coffee shop, Happy Corner. On Saturday, September 21st, 2019, Shirley enjoyed her last cup of coffee here on earth and is now joining the angels in Heaven. She was 81 years old and her smile will carry on in the hearts of everyone that had the joy of knowing her.
Shirley is preceded in death by her mother and youngest son, Mark Parris.
She is survived by her husband, L.S. Parris of the home in Mannford, OK, and one son, Ricky Parris and wife Deanna of Mannford, OK and a host of friends and loved ones.
