Robert Dale Walker was born on Wednesday, January 13th, 1960 in Muskogee, OK, the son of Andrew and Louella (Hallmark) Walker. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Charlie Rawls. He attended school at Oaks High School and then decided on a career as a truck driver. Robert met and married his best friend, Terry Kay McCallister on June 11th, 1985. This union was blessed with two sons and three daughters, Justin, Robert, Kelly, Tiara, and Kimberly. He loved traveling around the countryside. There was nothing better than miles of open road and the sound of the tires rolling down the road. When he wasn’t transporting freight, you could find him at home with the family he adored. He loved watching NASCAR, and his favorite driver, Dale Earnhardt Sr., as well as “Bounty Hunter” and “Cops.” He liked being out doors, working in his garden or planning a day fishing. There were always 70s rock n roll tunes playing on the radio, and a pot of coffee to share with any friends or family that happened to stop by. He enjoyed life, and helping those around him, he always did what he could. He was the neighborhood dad, always making a place at the table for the kids who didn’t have a dad to offer advice. He collected stamp and guns. He enjoyed any chance to be with his grandchildren, they were his best friends, and his feline companion, Squitty. A Christian by faith, he attended church at the Calvary Assembly of God. His health began to fail him and he was called from this life on Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at his home in Tahlequah, OK, surrounded by those he loved and cherished, and Squitty the cat. He was 59 years old. He is preceded in death by his mother, Louella Ball, and his stepfather, Charlie Rawls. He is also preceded by his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Terry, of the home in Tahlequah, and his children, Justin McCallister of Tahlequah, Robert Walker and wife Angela of Muldrow, OK, Robert Roberts and Tim Roberts both of Tahlequah, Kelly Walker and husband, Todd Kerns of Stephenville, VA, Tiara Tavera of Tahlequah, OK, and Kimberly Spurgeon and husband Gerald of Dickinson, ND. He leaves his two sisters, Kathy Walker and Marion Manning of Braggs, OK, and Kim Holt and Randy of Warner, OK. He lives on in his seven grandchildren, Kelsie Perry and Christina Watkins both of Tahlequah, Christopher Wells of Atlanta, GA, Blair Walker , Elijah Walker, Ryan and Josiah Walker all of Muldrow, OK. He also leaves five nephews and one niece, Christopher Byrd and wife Sheila of Tahlequah, Wesley Byrd of Oregon, Eric Byrd of Ohio, Nicholas Holt and wife Bernie of Sapulpa, Brandon Holt of Warner, OK, and Heather Staley and husband Josh of Muskogee, OK, as well as many cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
