 Obituary of Andy Frank George

Andy Frank George, or Frank to his family and friends, was born on November 23rd, 1917 in Needmore Hollow, OK, the son of James Berton and Minnie Lee (Coppinger) George. He grew up with three brothers and four sisters, Walsie, Richard, Margaret, Clifford, Juanita, Kay, James, and Baby George. Andy attended Bagley High school and then like so many others at this crucial time in history, felt the call to defend his country in World War II, serving in the US Army in the 59th Armored Infantry as a Communication Chief, Radio Electrician, serving honorably from May 1942 until his discharge in October 1945. He returned to California and worked in both the Lassen Lumber Company in Susanville, CA and the Scribner appliance Store in Rocklin, CA. Following the war he also worked in the CCC Program in Colorado, building roads across the state. His love was always electronics, he was captivated. Spare time was spent working on radios and TV’s every chance he got. He remained faithful to the military all of his life and was a proud member of the VFW, DAV, and the American Legion. He was most proud of his wife Wanda Gordon, whom he married on December 15th, 1946 in Reno, NV, and whom he raised their children, four sons and three daughters, Harry, David Killin, Patricia Bullet, Margaret Carr, James, Richard, and Wanda who died in infancy. They made him smile, and he always had the smile and the sense of humor to make the day a little brighter. He was the father, friend, and neighbor that everyone wanted to know, always there when you needed him most, doing a lot without ever expecting payment. He loved the beauty of the countryside and always took long walks in the open air. Frank passed from this life on Monday, August 10th, 2020 at Tahlequah with his family by his side. He attained the age of 102 years. He has seen many changes in this life time, and leaves many qualities for his family to attain. He will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Andrew Jackson George and his wife and William Ed and Cynthia (Bohannan) Coppinger. He is preceded by his Mother, Father, all of his brothers and sisters, his wife, Wanda Geraldine Gordon George in 1998, his infant daughter Wanda and his son, James George, and two grandchildren, Kimberly Carr and Brian Killin.
