MAY 23, 1935 – JANUARY 24, 2021
Obituary of Rose Ethel Cox

Rose Ethel (Whitekiller) Cox was born on Thursday, May 23rd, 1935 in Claremore, OK, the daughter of William G. Whitekiller and Lizzie Jane Batt. Rose liked to keep busy at home. She could often be found quilting, crocheting, or doing crossword puzzles. When she was out and about, she liked to go down to the creek to swim, fish, and hunt crawdads. She also enjoyed hopping in the car for a drive. One of her favorite drives was her weekly trip to Shepard’s Chapel in Gravette, AR where she was a faithful member. She just loved the view going down Highway 10. In the eyes of her daughter, Rose was the best mom ever. Not only was she easy to talk to, she was a kind, sweet, wonderful woman. To Donna, she wasn’t just her mother, she was also her best friend. Rose went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24th, 2021 in Tahlequah, OK. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Lizzie Whitekiller, son, Richard “Ricky” Lee Cox Jr., and daughter, Sharon Faye Cox.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter Donna Cox of Tahlequah, OK, five brothers Robert Whitekiller, Bill White and wife Carol, Ted Whitekiller and wife Virginia, George Whitekiller and wife Twila of Tahlequah, OK and Johnny Whitekiller and wife Carey of Ft. Smith, AR, and four sisters, Ella Mae Clark of Wagoner, OK, Pat Simpson, Mary Keeton and husband Jerry of Hulbert, OK, and Sherrie Perry and husband Farrell of Tahlequah, OK. She also leaves nine grandchildren, Jennifer Kisler and husband Mike, Wayne Peterson, Nikki Reeder and husband Jeremy, Ernest Cavely, Arlana Armstrong and husband Scott, Zack Cox and wife Kristy, Seth Cox, Erin Elizabeth Cox and companion Trey Stormes, and Jessica Morris and companion Nick Parker, thirteen great grandchildren, Larry Neely, Adalyn Kisler, Jacob Spencer, Ahnika Sanchez, Logan, Rylee, and Ryan Reeder, Nicholas and Lauren Armstrong, Matthew and Emily Cox, Maddison Stormes, and Nikole Parker, and four great-great grandchildren, Malakai Spencer, Rori Spencer, T.J. and Annalee Armstrong, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention.
