George
Junior Nolan was born 11-3-1935 in Stilwell Oklahoma, to Lafayette and
Theresa Nolan. He went home to be with his lord and savior on 1-28-2019.
George married Phyllis Reddell on Oct 21, 1955, in Stilwell. George
received his Bachelors from Northeastern State University. He went on to
receive his Masters and PhD in Physical chemistry from the University
of Arkansas. Upon graduation they moved to Bartlesville Oklahoma where
he was a research chemist for Phillips Petroleum. While at Phillips he
developed 11 patents. However, he desired to teach and returned to
Northeastern State University where he was professor for 37 years
retiring at the age of 70. He then worked as a substitute teacher at
Keys High Schools for three years where many students fondly referred to
him as “Papa George”.
George is survived by five children, 11 grandchildren, eight and soon to be nine great grandchildren and one brother, many friends and family. He was proceeded in death by his wife Phyllis of 60 years.
Funeral services will be at graveside with immediate family members only.
