Roberta Gayle Rowbotham-Hammons was born on March 15th, 1958, in Tulsa, OK, the daughter of William and Barbara (Willis) Rowbotham. She was raised in a family with one brother and one sister, William Henry and Linda JoAnn. She attended and graduated from Catoosa high school. She was a woman of many talents and did many things, the most important to her was being a wonderful wife, a loving mother and an adoring grandmother to her four grandchildren and her one great grandchild. She married Doyle Hammons on August 8th, 1994 in Harrison. She was the devoted and adoring mother to her three children, David Allen, Leslie Dawn, and Autumn Lea. She attended and graduated from Cosmetology School. She loved her job and was a genuine people person, always going the extra mile to make them happy. She was an incredibly talented artist, working in pencil and paints, crocheting, sewing, she made beautiful costumes and enjoyed decorating her yard with various yard ornaments as the seasons changed. She liked to spend the occasional afternoon fishing and liked being outdoors. If there were people gathered to have a good time, she was found right in the middle, always the happy one and the life of the party. Football season found her rooting for her favorite teams, the OSU Cowboys and the TU Golden Hurricanes, and she proudly demonstrated her loyalty by displaying her flags for her teams on her car. Christmas was her favorite time of the year and Gayle seemed to shine the brightest, decorating the house, searching for the perfect gift for someone and making everyone’s holiday just a little bit brighter. She adored the time making things for Doyle, the kids and her grandchildren. There was nothing as wonderful as her whole family gathered around her. She loved music, especially country, and her canine companions. She enjoyed dancing and taught line dancing for enjoyment. She was bright, funny and an absolute joy to be around. Sometimes the lights that burn the brightest have the shortest amount of time, and this was true of Gayle. She was a Christian by faith and attended the Northstar Church in Pryor, OK. The Lord called this good and faithful servant home from her many labors on Friday, September 25th, 2020 at her home in Catoosa, OK. She was 62 years old. She leaves a void that can never be filled.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother and father.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband Doyle Hammons of the home in Catoosa, OK. She also leaves her three children, David Allen Threet II of Sand Springs, OK, Leslie Dawn Cummings and husband Steven of Catoosa, OK, and Autumn Lea Ellen Hibbard of Claremore, OK. She leaves her brother and sister, William Henry Rowbotham and wife Pam of Owasso, OK, and Linda JoAnn Hoover and husband John of Tulsa, OK. She lives on in her four grandchildren, Skylar Andrew Cummings and wife Haley, Hollie Nicole Cummings, Robert Anthony Bushers and wife Hannah, and Cody Garrett Ratliff, and one great grandchild, Jimi Ozeda Bushers, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends and loved ones.
